About us!

Hello, Thank you so much for visiting our Blog.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little more about what we are doing here at Sew&Grow.

We are a social enterprise based in Wolverton, Milton Keynes. We work with young people who cannot continue in traditional schooling and we train them in sewing and growing. We are sewing in a beautiful workshop based in Wolverton and making a range of bags and purses using only recycled and reclaimed fabrics. The growing part comes in down at the Urb farm, one of our sister projects. We have a plot there where we will be growing a range of plants that can be processed into natural dyes including indigo, madder and woad.

We care about being environmentally friendly, about taking our time and making things well, repairing when something is broken rather than throwing it away and celebrating the impermanence and ever changing nature of textiles.

Our products offer an alternative to the unethical, environmentally damaging and poorly made products which need constantly replacing. We would like to offer you a locally made, socially and environmentally conscious product that will last you for years to come. Please check in on the blog to see how we are progressing and meet some of the makers.

Thank you! We hope to see you again soon!
